Smallwoods Signs

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I have the tendency to post a nonstop flow of beautiful homes and home decor inspiration in my stories. This is a bit of a bookmarking for my own (current or future) home and also a form of daydreaming.

After quite a bit of time separating myself from ever being able to achieve any of these beautiful home decor concepts, I decided "WHY NOT!?" (I'm not currently singing Hilary Duff's classic song in my head. I promise. Really!)

So I did a bit more digging and paid closer attention to the tags in some of my favorite Instagram inspos and stumbled across Smallwoods signs! This company is actually located in Texas, which is super exciting, and offers a wide range of signs that match the modern farmhouse look that our house currently boasts.

Walter (the boyfriend) can tell you that I am pretty chill when it comes to most things, but for some reason, I am very selective in the decor that I allow in my home.

A little example: I knew with certainty that I wanted an "EAT" sign in my kitchen for about a year and a half. A simple "E" "A" "T". Every time we would go to HomeGoods, At Home, Hobby Lobby, Kirkland's, or any place that you might find decor, Walter would point out a sign. Then queue the slightly disgusted face and ever-so-slight nod that is not unlike a Miranda Priestly lip pucker.

So cut to over a year of searching, and probably a few dozen failed attempts to fulfill this desire, in the ever-necessary Target Dollar Spot (I mean it's kind of a lie now, but we don't have to get into that). And I found a simple, non-painted light and natural light-colored wooden "E" "A" "T" that cost $3. I smiled, mentally checked it off the home decor bucket list, and threw it in the cart.

Back to the point of this post... Smallwoods definitely hits it out of the park in the sign department. We currently have two pieces from them in our home and they strongly resonate with the aesthetic that I am looking for and that of the many Instagram homes that I wish I lived in. These little pieces of perfection are reasonably priced, often on sale, and can even be custom designed. Their selections include general signs for the home, laundry room, bathroom, bath, children's rooms, and more. They are now branching out to include wallpaper designs and bath and body products!

I cannot speak more highly of them and know that we will more than likely accrue many more pieces from their business. I've set my sights on a large piece that has a beautiful quote from a book that can go in our bedroom. I love the concept of a page from a book fitting into the story of my life or sharing an emotion or concept that I connect to. If the endless search for the perfect sign for my kitchen is a sign (is that considered a pun? A sign being a sign?), then you should know the value that this collection of things that we assemble is what creates our home.

Check out their site here and let me know if you have anything from them already, or are looking into getting something!

At the time of publishing this blog, they are currently running a Valentine's Deal of 30% off utilizing "VDAY" at checkout!
